Kendrick Lamar Grammys 2016 Performance
Lamar and his band march out onto the stage in shackles, chained together in a single file line. After a brief pause, he launches into an explosive performance of ‘The Blacker the Berry,’ while his band plays in the background locked within cages. As soon as he finishes his verse, the lights dim and Lamar and his team dance under blacklights. It is here when Kendrick Lamar literally stumbles into a fiery performance of Song of the Year nominee, ‘Alright.’ It was truly a sight to behold.
Though Taylor Swift walked away with the prestigious Album of the Year award (1989), Kendrick ultimately stole the night, and still bagged five Grammys of his own. Take a look at the full winners list here.
