Grandia and Grandia II are classic role-playing games released in the years 1997 and 2000, respectively. It follows the story of protagonist Justin, an aspiring adventurer from Parm. Along with a colorful cast of characters, Justin travels a fantasy world set in an era of increasing technological advancements. The game plays like your usual role-playing experience, with real time and turn based combat, a number options for upgrading and customizing your party, skill points to be accrued for earning intense ultimate moves, and similar to its contemporaries, a beautifully composed soundtrack that complements each high and low you experience in the game.
Grandia and Grandia II have been lauded by critics as some of the most influential role-playing games of all time, and deservedly so, with both games currently holding “Universal Acclaim” on its Metacritic score.
Grandia HD Collection will launch for the Nintendo Switch on August 16, with Grandia HD Remaster for the PC following at a later date.
