We’ve only known about Gravity Rush 2 for a few weeks now, nine months after we first learned the game was coming to North America, and fans should be pleased to hear Gravity Rush 2 will hit stores before the end of 2016. It’s definitely cutting it close, though.
According to a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Gravity Rush 2 will hit U.S. stores on Dec. 2, making it the latest addition to a busy holiday calendar that already features Dishonored 2, Gears of War 4, The Last Guardian, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Titanfall 2 and dozens of other big releases. But the Gravity Rush 2 launch date isn’t the only thing fans have to be excited about. Today’s announcement also brought word that a Gravity Rush anime is in the works, called Gravity Rush The Animation ~ Overture ~, featuring events following the events of Kat’s life between the first and second game. The series will be developed by Studio Khara (Rebuild of Evangelion) and will emerge sometime before Gravity Rush 2.
Those who preorder their copy of Gravity Rush 2 will get an exclusive white costume for the game’s protagonist, along with a “Select Soundtrack” featuring nine songs from the game. Those who preorder the game on (or after) Aug. 2 will also receive 10 free PSN avatars featuring characters from Gravity Rush 2 . So it might be wise to wait a few weeks, unless you’re planning to order a physical copy, if you were thinking about taking a walk to your local video game retailer.
