By now, avid players on GTA Online may notice a trend when it comes to GTA 5 DLC updates: a generous Double GTA$ and RP event usually comes just before the update to give players a chance to pad their bank accounts in anticipation to all the new items that the new DLC offers.
From Feb. 12 - 18, Rockstar announced a Be My Valentine Event "Till Death Do Us Part," featuring Double GTA$ and RP. Beyond the "Till Death Do Us Part" Adversary Mode, the event also offers Double RP for riding in vehicles with other players and arm wrestling. Cinema Tickets and Fairground Rides will be free during this period and SMG Ammo will will available for half off.
The Rockstar event ends tomorrow, so there isn't much time left to take advantage of Double GTA$ and RP. That said, GTA 5 tipster and YouTuber MrBossFTW shared details suggesting that there will be more GTA$ and RP bonus events coming in the days ahead.
Specifically, a screenshot from a GameSpot article suggested that Rockstar is readying a slew of new bonus events beyond Thursday to give players an extended opportunity to make their fortune. The story was only up for a moment before GameSpot went back in to erase the details. According to Gamespot's Mat Paget's Twitter, Rockstar provided GameSpot with the press release before sending an email with corrections. MrBossFTW assumes the details could have derived from an embargoed Rockstar press release, prompting Gamestop to double back.
According to the screen grab, there are Double GTA$ and RP for Trevor missions on Friday, Feb. 19, followed by Double GTA$ and RP for Ron missions on Saturday, Simeon missions on Sunday, Martin missions on Monday, Lester missions Tuesday, Gerald Missions Wednesday, and finally all Contact missions on Thursday, Feb. 26.
Expect more details regarding the leaked Bonus Event information to come later this week. If rumors regarding extended Double GTA$ and RP are true, then it strongly suggests that Rockstar could be readying a sizable GTA 5 DLC update. Earlier this week, MrBossFTW also mentioned evidence suggesting that the GTA 5 Lowriders Part 2 DLC could be next.
