Here we go again! Shawn Fonteno is at it once more, teasing possible single-player DLC coming to GTA V. Fonteno is best known as the voice actor for Franklin from GTA V's single-player campaign.
As posted on Fonteno's Instagram account, we see the man wrapped up in a motion capture suit. He is sitting in a room in front of other Rockstar game posters, such as GTA IV, Max Payne 3, and LA Noire.
Interestingly enough, the caption has changed since Fonteno posted the picture. The caption as it is now reads "LOL ......" Originally, the caption was different, as captured in the DomisLive video below. Back then, the post read "LOL FUCCCCCCC IT ......"
It seemed as if Fonteno was breaking some sort of NDA by sharing the photo. We don't know if this is an old photo, or a new one. Obviously, nothing has been confirmed by this photo,
This isn't the first time that Fonteno has posted a similarly teasing photo to his account either. Fonteno had previously posted a photo of himself in a motion-capture suit with the caption of "Shhh...." implying that what he was sharing was supposed to be a secret.
It seems that Fonteno is probably just trolling his fans and the GTA community, based on what Rockstar has to say on the matter. In an interview Imran Sarwar gave with IGN on Sept. 10 of last year, it seemed everyone at Rockstar has been working on GTA Online full-time. Sarwar is the Director of Design at Rockstar North.
"Right now our focus is on GTA Online which has exceeded our expectations," Sarwar said. "We currently have all key members of the team that launched Grand Theft Auto V focused on supporting GTA Online in every capacity." If all of the key members are working on GTA Online, then nobody is making single-player DLC.
It seems like all the focus on GTA Online still will not result in new Heist missions as well. "Heists have been a huge success, and they really revitalized the GTA Online community," Sarwar told IGN. "Heists encourage people to play together while giving them the chance to earn serious amounts of cash. However, as we’ve said before they were also a lot harder to make than we initially thought they would be, and it took us multiple tries to come up with the design that we eventually launched – but we believe and hope it was well worth the wait for everyone."
So what do you think? Do you still believe that Rockstar is secretly working on single-player DLC? Do you think Fonteno is just messing with everyone? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
