Rockstar has yet to release the Nagasaki Shotaro 'Tron Bike' to GTA 5, but most GTA fans that have been following the GTA forums are more than familiar with the bike. Its insane styling and customization options have made the Tron Bike one of the most anticipated vehicles coming to GTA Online. But there's two things to note before you spend your hard-earned cash on this rad motorcycle.
First things first: it is expensive. Really expensive. Via GTA 5 tipster and Youtuber MrBossFTW, you're looking at a $2,400,000 cost of admission. In fact, it's $200k more than the $2.2M Progen T20 supercar! Secondly, while the Shotaro's killer looks and insane acceleration are unmatched, GTA tipster Yan2295 demonstrated that the Shotaro isn't actually the fastest motorcycle in the game – that honor still belongs to the Kakuchou Drag.
Yan2295 conducted an informal test on a strip of road with a finish line that ended inside the tunnel. With powerful acceleration, the Shotaro rocketed to its top speed of 190 km/h and arrived at the finish line in just 15.11 seconds. On the other hand, the Hakuchou Drag did not accelerate as quickly, but with an unreal top speed of 197 kmh, it reached the finish line in 15.10 seconds.
Of course, a hundredth of a second is quite negligible, but if the bikes were placed in a situation with a longer runway, there's no denying the Hakuchou Drag will pull ahead. But on the Shotaro Tron bike's defense, the Hakuchou Drag had never been very good at anything other than a straight line. When the racing gets twisty, the Drag's inherent weakness is alarmingly clear. We won't know for sure until Rockstar releases the bike, but it looks like the Shotaro may be the more well-rounded bike.
Still, is the $2.4M Shotaro worth it? Personally, you can't put a price on a Tron Bike and I'll blow my GTA$ life savings on it with reckless abandon. Let us know if you look forward to riding a Shotaro! Click here to see the rundown of available Shotaro Tron Bike customization options.
