We will soon be able to feast our eyes on the next Battlefield game. DICE, developer of the long-running franchise, announced yesterday that the game will be revealed on June 9 at 10 a.m. EST. This info doesn’t come as a surprise as the official Battlefield Twitter has been teasing about a June reveal for a while now.
There’s also a good chance the next BF game is titled as just "Battlefield" instead of Battlefield 6, at least, that’s what the official tweet implies. Honestly, I am getting a little tired of these weird names.
Battlefield 6 is obviously a very important release for EA. The title is being developed by DICE and is also supported by the Need for Speed developer, Criterion Games. The next NFS game has been put on hold until the development on BF6 completes.
There have been tons of rumors about the upcoming Battlefield game. Several rumors have suggested that the game is set in a near-future setting where you play as a part of a platoon. The game will support a 128-players lobby and unscripted destruction. Rumors further suggested that a free battle royale mode is also planned, which will be released at a later date.
The biggest and most unbelievable rumor is that Battlefield 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. This seems highly unlikely, however, given the amount of money Microsoft has, I wouldn’t be surprised if it did happen.
While you wait for Battlefield 6 to arrive, you can play the previous BF games on your Xbox Series X|S at 120 FPS.
Battlefield 6 will launch PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in late 2021. While the developer has promised that the game is designed for next-gen and past-gen consoles, we hope that this doesn’t turn out to be another Cyberpunk 2077 situation.
