Hero Siege: Pocket Edition, a hack 'n' slash game from developers Panic Art Studios with roguelike and RPG elements, has finally been re-released on iOS and Android. Hero Siege isn’t cheap — it’s $9.99 on both the iOS App Store and Google Play store — but it’s well worth the money if you enjoy dungeon-esque gameplay with up to four of your friends online.
Hero Siege: Pocket Edition brings with it some of the DLC and balancing patches the developers have released for the PC version of the game, additions that will go a long way in making the $9.99 hurt a little less.
Every game session you play in Hero Siege: Pocket Edition is randomly generated, meaning all the bosses, levels, secrets, events, items and dungeons you come across are all created on the fly for you and your squad. There are up to 170 passive, usable or orbiting relics you can choose to craft.
The loot system itself works off of the normal, superior, rare and legendary tiers you’re no doubt familiar with if you’ve played a game like this before, and players can choose from seven hero classes before setting out with their friends.
As Pocketgamer.co.uk pointed out, Hero Siege has had a tumultuous past on mobile. It was originally released in 2013 but was taken down right around the time the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus came out. It was later brought back momentarily but then pulled once more soon after. Let’s hope it sticks around longer this time.
