Hitman has concluded its first season with the release of Hokkaido this week, and developer IO Interactive has confirmed there will be a second season. Additionally, more content will be released between seasons to hold fans over.
Speaking to French outlet Gamergen, the executive director of production at IO Interactive, Hakan Abrak, confirmed the new content. “ Yes, there is a second season,” Abrak said. “With Season 2, there will be new places and new exciting cities, but that does not mean that Paris will no longer matter.”
Like a TV show, some locations will be returned to in future chapters. “A base has been built; a Hitman in which there are deep characters, that we will develop for future seasons as well,” Abrak said. “A bit like a TV series, we can draw a parallel that depends on characters we have followed since the previous seasons. Some will come to their end, and we will follow other for a long time.”
No release window was given on Season 2 content, but Abrak did hint at the possibility of something special coming this holiday season. “I do imagine, I do not promise, even if it makes me smile, but imagine a holiday period, in central Paris,” he said.
