Hunt: Showdown did not have a blockbuster launch, but it is surely making waves after its release. After leaving Early Access and getting a full release back in August, Crytek’s bounty hunter game has been getting multiple updates. This time the game will be receiving a long-awaited solo PVE mode. If you want to play alone at your own pace, well, now you can.
Although the exact release time for the additional mode hasn't been announced yet, we can assume it to launch after Update 1.2.
Here are the various changes the massive Update 1.2 will bring.
- Random teams of three
- Advanced tutorial
- New melee equipment
- Boss whisper changes
- Improved CPU performance

Right now, Hunt: Showdown is available on PC via Steam and Xbox One, but PlayStation fans can soon get in on the action with the PS4 version launching on February 18. Crytek is also planning to have cross-play support for PS4 and Xbox One, which will kick the player count up a notch.
Developers at Crytek have joined forces with Koch Media to publish the game on consoles, but retain the rights to publish it on PC. “With Koch handling the publishing side of things, our development team can put all of their focus on continuing to develop and optimize Hunt across platforms, together with our community,” Crytek CEO Avni Yerli explained. “While we focus on development, Koch will apply their immense digital and retail publishing expertise to the title, supporting the game’s continued growth. We can’t wait to see what PlayStation players think of the game, and to continue to bring new content to all our players in the coming year.”
It seems like Hunt: Showdown is not going to slow down anytime soon and Crytek will support the game for years to come.
