'Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered' Gets Its First NSFW Mod Just 3 Hours After Launch

Would you use this lewd sword?

When it comes to modding games, nothing is off-limits—and nothing is immune to the internet's hunger. Bethesda's "Oblivion Remastered" had hardly caught its breath before it became the latest in a long line of games to be blessed with a "gooner mod." It's not a leak anymore.

That's right. Within three hours of its unexpected release, the fan-favorite RPG was treated to its first NSFW addition, once again demonstrating that it can be modded in a horny way.

Nexus Mods Acts Quickly with Lewd Oblivion Sword Skin

Mod by Bub/Bethesda

The distinction for the first pervy upload belongs to Nexus Mods user Bub200, who brought the internet to the Ahegao Short Sword—a mod that retextures a plain short sword with panels of graphic anime facial expressions, popularly known as "ahegao."

The mod itself is not very vulgar, particularly in light of the wild content circulating on Skyrim's mod page, but its pace and audacity earned it an odd kind of notoriety.

Uploaded at precisely 2:27 PM EDT, Bub200's mod went live on the Nexus mere hours after "Oblivion Remastered" hit the shelves for the masses.

Responses Range from 'Why?' to 'Keep Going!'

Replies to the mod were, not surprisingly, mixed, according to PC Gamer. A user instantly responded with "thanks, I hate it," while other users provided snarky support.

One vocal comment by user Thebrokenbucket called the sword mod "the first that will define a true modding renaissance" and encouraged Bub200 to "goon harder" so others could create a deluge of even more insane creations on Oblivion Remastered.

While the internet argues about the cultural influence of hentai swords, one thing is for sure: this is just the start. "Skyrim," "Fallout," and even "Elden Ring" have all suffered the same destiny—hounded (or blessed, depending on your preference) by NSFW mods that vary from nuanced nudity adjustments to outright anime takeovers.

Speaking of "Skyrim," check our latest report about the must-use "Skyrim" mods.

Modding Differently From Ahegao to Anime Fighters

For the time being, "Oblivion Remastered" retains its vanilla appeal, but modders are already whipping up a frenzy. Whether it's retextured weapons, jiggle physics on NPCs, or full crossover material like Kratos carrying a gigantic axe, the door is now ajar.

And with the Nexus community being as busy and as uncensored as ever, it's only a matter of days before this RPG gets full visual makeovers and ridiculous makeovers.

As always, mod responsibly. And perhaps, don't install these at work.
