With all the turmoil surrounding TNA Wrestling over the last few weeks, it’s hard to even think about watching Impact Wrestling on a weekly basis. This week featured a decent show for TNA, which is far from its normally great shows over the last few weeks.
This week saw the beginning of Broken Matt Hardy being out of sorts, Rosemary throwing her name into the Knockouts Title race and a TNA World Title match once again on the show. Everything is chugging along for the company and while it seems that things are uncertain, the men and women of TNA Wrestling are trying their best to on the best show possible. Let’s begin this week’s Impact Wrestling review with a look at the hottest storyline in TNA.
The Hardys Are Starting To Get Stale
The highlight of Impact Wrestling over the last eight months has been the storyline with The Hardys/Broken Hardys. The problem with this being the highlight of the show for so long is that at some point, it would begin to run its course. With the debut of the DCC, the storyline has evolved, but now Broken Matt Hardy has amnesia and doesn't remember anything about his life.
With the upcoming “Total Nonstop Deletion” coming up on Dec. 15, TNA is going all-in on the Hardy story. But Dec. 15 should be the beginning of the end for the storyline. It’s been fun while it lasted, but at some point, it has to end and now is the time to figure out an ending. Nothing abrupt, but something that will end the Hardy storyline properly and keep it as one the best TNA storylines in the company’s history. Speaking of The DCC…
The DCC May Turn Out To Be A Good Idea
The assumption here is that the DCC was created to be foil for Billy Corgan after Corgan and James Storm had issues a few months ago. Now that Billy Corgan is out as TNA President, the DCC storyline seemed destined to fail and go the way of “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown (if you don’t know who that is, check out YouTube).
The revelation that the group consists of Storm, Bram and veteran Eddie Kingston means that you have a trio that could rival The Shield and run roughshod over TNA. Storm as a leader works after watching his work with The Revolution two years ago. As a group of wrestlers that feel wronged by the business, they have a gripe and could become a heel faction that could fight against EC3, Eddie Edwards and others for months. I’m curious to see how this goes.
Four-Way Match Set For Impact Wrestling For #1 Contendership To TNA Title
Next week’s Impact Wrestling will feature a new #1 contender crowned for Eddie Edwards in a four-way match. EC3, Mike Bennett, Lashley and Trevor Lee will compete for a shot at the TNA World Title. You have three worthy competitors to mount a challenge for the title, but where did Trevor Lee come from?
I know TNA is trying out new things, but Trevor Lee should not be in this match. I would have almost preferred to have Lee in the title match with Edwards this week and put Eli Drake in the four-way because that makes more sense. I understand what the company is trying do, but it seems like someone needs take the pinfall loss and Lee is the man to do it.
After The Bell
- Does anybody care about Al Snow, The Tribunal or Mahabali Shera? Did you hear that crowd during their segment? Just nothing there.
- I thought the Allie babyface turn was completed, but apparently, she is still in Maria’s corner. JUST END IT AND TURN HER ALREADY.
- Eli Drake went down to Edwards in a TNA World Title match, but there is something about Drake that screams star. Reminds me of a young Mr. Kennedy from the WWE years ago.
- They mentioned the name Tyrus prior to the title match...where the heck is Tyrus?
