Marvel unveiled the first official trailer for Iron Fist at New York Comic Con Saturday evening. Just moments after the panel, the trailer released on YouTube. However, the five scenes previewed behind closed doors will remain a mystery to the general public for now.
The Iron Fist trailer proves Danny Rand is a living weapon. We get to see his iconic Iron Fist light up orange from the inside out as well as the dragon symbol that was branded on his chest during his battle with Shou-Lau.
“A child touched by fire, destined to be our greatest warrior,” a voiceover says. “You are a living weapon. Drive all other thoughts out of your mind besides this.”
There’s a few familiar faces in the trailer. In addition to a glimpse of a cage fight scene with Colleen Wing, watch closely around the 25 second mark to see Madame Gao lurking the shadows. Gao fought off Daredevil’s efforts to bring down her heroin trade. She eventually turned on Wilson Fisk and left New York. She came back to a new enemy, The Blacksmith, who also happens to be a foe of The Punisher.
It was revealed in a scene from New York Comic Con that Iron Fist is a sworn enemy of The Hand, Daredevil’s main foe. In the final scene of Daredevil Season 2, we see Elektra’s dead body in a stone coffin surrounded by The Hand. It’s safe to assume Elektra is coming back to life, and it probably has something to do with those zombie kids who had their blood drained by The Hand. That’s when Claire quits her job at Metro-General Hospital after refusing to take part in the cover-up of The Hand’s suspicious dead bodies. All of Claire’s knowledge will certainly be an asset to Danny if he hopes to defeat The Hand once and for all.
