NeocoreGames recently announced their upcoming title, King Arthur: Knight's Tale. It is the latest entry in the long-running franchise. The game will launch sometime in Q1 of 2021, assuming there are no delays. Developers also confirmed that King Arthur: Knight's Tale will be available on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. A current-gen port has not been confirmed. Check out the announcement trailer for the game below.
King Arthur: Knight's Tale is a role-playing turn-based tactical game. You play as Sir Mordred, a regicide who killed King Arthur. However, before dying, King Arthur also killed you. Now, you, along with the king, are alive and dead. It's a little confusing.
Below is the small part of the game’s description, as provided by NeocoreGames.
- Diverse battle maps - Position yourself, avoid shieldwalls, flank your enemies. Use covers against archers, make use of the terrain, hide in the foliage, surprise your enemies!
- Control the battleground - Scouting ahead is important as your enemies could be hiding as well. Use traps, lure and avoid enemy combatants until you can strike safely.
- Team tactics - Choose from more than 30 heroes of 5 diverse classes to assemble an efficient team. Combine hundreds of skills and artifacts, but be careful. One misstep and your heroes could be maimed, or worse, killed permanently.
- Learn about your enemies - Opposing forces and mythical creatures will try to challenge you at every step. Pay attention to their weaknesses and strengths!
NeocoreGames has also developed Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr, which received average-to-good reviews. We hope that this is better, and from the short trailer we saw, it certainly looks interesting.
The developers have also launched a Kickstarter campaign. The total goal of the campaign is $149,997 and in only a couple of hours, $28,000 had already been raised. The backers of the game will receive digital goodies and rewards, depending on the amount they chipped in. You can have your face in the game (as the hero) by pledging $5,200, or you can even design an event or a quest.
