The massive collaboration between Epic Games and Disney continues, and a new leak claims that another "Fortnite" x Marvel crossover is on the way, and this time, it will feature the "Thunderbolts."
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 5 is well underway, and its next film is right around the corner, introducing a new group of anti-heroes to save the planet together as the new super team, the Thunderbolts.
"Fortnite" and Marvel are said to be cooking something up yet again for fans of both franchises, with this latest crossover leak showing new characters that will join the battle royale as skins featuring a different kind of art.
'Fortnite' Leak: 'Thunderbolts' Skins Are Coming
A new leak that came from a trusted source, HYPEX, revealed the next "Fortnite" x Marvel crossover waiting to happen in the game, and it is a special feature on the upcoming MCU movie, "Thunderbolts."
In this latest leak, it was revealed that two characters are making their way to the battle royale, James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes or The Winter Soldier, and Yelena Belova, who is now known as the "White Widow."
Instead of the usual 3D designs of Marvel heroes and villains in the battle royale, these upcoming skins from "Fortnite" will reportedly feature the two anti-heroes in the "pen and ink" design. This character design gives more of a comic feel to these characters as it is a similar style to their comic art.
That being said, this choice of skin design saw mixed reactions from the public, with one claiming that other Marvel heroes like Steve Rogers (Captain America), Sam Wilson (the Falcon/Captain America), and Natasha Romanoff (the Black Widow) had a 3D design.
Another user argued that they want a 'toggle off' for the pen and ink design for these characters as they are "annoying."
It remains unknown if there will be a toggle on or off for The Winter Soldier and the White Widow should they be released, or if they will have an alternate look that is not pen and ink.
What to Expect from 'Fortnite' x 'Thunderbolts'
The leaker also shared a clip of their in-game appearances, with a recording of their special emotes in the game.
First, The Winter Soldier is getting an "Arm-Up" emote, which has the character stopping an ax using his vibranium arm. This is a call back to the MCU's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
Next, the video also shows the White Widow with the "Widow's Mac" emote, where she does a flip and catches the mac and cheese that she is cooking and then putting hot sauce over it. This one is a call back to Florence Pugh's Yelena eating mac and cheese on the "Hawkeye" series on Disney+.
It is also expected that these new skins will go alongside a new "Thunderbolt Cup" in "Fortnite," centering on a Duos Battle Royale tournament in game where players would compete in pairs.
"Fortnite" x "Marvel's Thunderbolts" may be coming soon as the movie is set to drop on May 2, 2025.
