Name a better duo than The Last of Us and leaks, I bet you can’t. The IP has been a victim of several leaks over the past few years. Yesterday, even more stuff about an upcoming TLOU project spread, and no, we are not talking about the multiplayer game.
Several screenshots of The Last of Us Part 1, a remake of the original game, were leaked yesterday. The pictures showed off jaw-dropping visuals, gorgeous environments, and realistic faces. You can see these pics below for yourself.
That’s not all because a small cutscene of the game's prologue was also revealed. The new scene shows major improvements over the original cutscene. However, keep in mind that the video is a MAJOR SPOILER for the first game. So, only watch the video if you don’t mind.
Other Claims
The leaker revealed tons of more information about the upcoming remake. However, they didn’t provide proof besides these screenshots, and according to them, the game will support VRR, 4K 40 FPS (Gameplay Mode), and 4K 60 FPS (Dynamic Mode).
They also claimed that the game will feature new accessibility options similar to TLOU2. Players will also see Joel apply attachments to his weapons as Ellie does in the sequel.
Claims About Gameplay
The most interesting claim was that there will be no gameplay improvements besides animations and audio. This claim goes against Naughty Dog's statement where they mentioned gameplay improvements, superior AI, and exploration changes. So, take this with a grain of salt, and wait for the developer's official announcement.
It’s also important to mention that the above screenshots are from the beginning of the game, which doesn’t feature any combat. We will have to wait for the developer to reveal actual gameplay footage before making any judgment. However, if the leaker is accurate, then there will be angry fans as many expected TLOU2 -gameplay in Part 1.
Thankfully, we might not have to wait long. The Last of Us Part 1 will arrive on PS5 on September 2. So, gameplay should be revealed soon. A P C port has also been confirmed, which will launch at a later date.
