LEGO Brawls is finally coming to consoles. This family-friendly brawling video game is coming late summer 2022 to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
If you’re wondering how the game works, think Super Smash Bros. but with LEGOs. The game was originally developed as a fighting game for mobile. It was released in September 2019 on iOS devices, made exclusive for Apple Arcade. In October 2019, it was then made available on Mac OS. During its first release, LEGO Games Vice President Sean William McEvoy revealed that they created the game to be enjoyed by families.
Like what one may expect from a LEGO game, it offers a wide range of customization options to mix and match and come up with unique minifigure brawlers. It comes complete with custom loadouts and power-ups tailored to the preference and playstyle of each player.
The playable minifigure characters are based on recognizable LEGO minifigures released throughout that brand’s history, either as part of the construction sets as collectible minifigures or as part of one of the LEGO themes. In addition, the minifigures have been grouped into different types like castles, classic space, collectibles, pirates, and town and city. There are also Hidden Side, Jurassic World, Monkie Kid, Ninjago, and Vidiyo.
In each match, players fight with everything from baguettes and pie cannons to rocket fists and boomboxes. There are also different multiplayer modes, unique challenges and win conditions that everyone can enjoy. The goal of the game is to control the center of the map until the team's color is full.
In LEGO Brawls, players fight with friends and family to get those bragging rights. Those looking for a bigger challenge can go global and try to reach to the top of the online leaderboards.
