We’ve learned a great deal about New Bordeaux, the fictitious city that serves as the primary setting for Mafia III, over the last few months. But the latest gameplay trailer for 2K’s upcoming open-world title is changing the focus, pivoting away from the residents and landmarks of New Bordeaux to highlight Mafia III protagonist Lincoln Clay’s “talent for violence.”

Like previous Mafia III gameplay videos, this week’s trailer is presented as uncovered video testimony from a U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence hearing, interspersing comments about Clay’s proficiency for killing with gameplay footage proving each to be true. Previous videos focused on the city itself, and the crimes players can commit within in New Bordeaux, but this one is pretty much just a highlight reel of violence. Fans see Lincoln assassinating what we can only assume to be members of the Mafia, attacking a Klan rally and wielding a variety of explosives.

We also meet the people providing the Mafia III protagonist with his arsenal in the game’s latest trailer. Like many open-world games, Mafia III features a variety of specialized vendors, who can secure everything from silenced pistols to C4, and Lincoln’s relationship with each character seems to determine what weaponry will/won’t be available to him. Of course, if building friendships isn’t your idea of a good time, we’d wager Mafia III will probably include some less friendly ways for the player to acquire the weapons they desire.

For a closer look at Mafia III, take a couple of minutes to check out the latest trailer from 2K and Hangar 13. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if you’re looking forward to playing Mafia III when the game hits PC and consoles next month.

Mafia III is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts Oct. 7.
