Mario has teamed up with Sonic, but not the Sonic you might be thinking of. Between April 19 and June 30, kids will be able to get a Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam toy in happy meals purchased at Sonic restaurants.
“ Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam combines the charming world of Mario & Luigi with the colorful Paper Mario universe,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, to Business Wire. “SONIC Drive-In is the ideal location to premiere the very first toys based on this unique collaboration.”
There will be five different toys offered in the Wacky Pack, the name of Sonic’s kids meal. One features Mario running around on pull-back wheels, one is a top with Mario and Luigi spinning on it, one is a collection of little knick-knacks found in Mario games, and two are papercraft figures.
Aside from Mario toys, the Wacky Pack also comes with an entree, a side dish, and a drink. Kids have the choice between a corn dog, chicken strips, a junior burger, a hot dog or a grilled cheese sandwich as the entree, with fries, tater tots and apple slices as the side choice.
So what do you think? Will you be going to your nearest Sonic Drive-in to get some Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam toys? What other games would you like to see get toys in the future? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
