In the wake of the X-Men vs Inhumans storyline, the X-Men books are having a shift over at Marvel Comics called Resurrxion as the company prepares for the Legacy storyline that is on the way.
Writers Marc Guggenheim (X-Men Gold), Sina Grace ( Iceman ) and Christina Strain ( Generation X ) joined Executive Editor Nick Lowe at the Marvel: Resurrxion panel on the final day of San Diego Comic-Con to discuss their books and what to expect in the present and future.
Here’s a rundown of what was said:
X-MEN GOLD/BLUE
Guggenheim kicked things off by speaking on the upcoming crossover between the X-Men Gold and Blue books. The story begins in classic X-Men fashion with a softball game and the Blue team will enlist some people outside of their team to fill out the roster.
The crossover, titled “Mojoworld,” will see Mojo come to Earth where X-Men will be placed in specially designed false memories of older X-Men stories. Longshot will return.
Guggenheim teases that there will be major consequences by the end of this story.
ASTONISHING X-MEN
Lowe briefly discussed the ending of issue #1 that showed a chained up Professor Xavier, who is currently the prisoner of the Shadow King.
ICEMAN
Sina talked about how the young Iceman has his life together both as an X-Man and personally and that has fueled him to be better in his own series. Bobby will meet Daken soon so to be on the lookout for that.
Also, fans who were worried that the first few issues were slow Sina promised that starting with issue #6 that the action and mystery will ramp up because he’s allowed to do “Hickam-style” build ups too.
When Legacy comes along, Iceman will reunite with the original Champions, something Sina has looked forward to doing all his life.
GENERATION X
Strain said that the original run of Generation X was “perfect” so she was hesitant to accept job but once she figured that she couldn’t be Scott Lobdell she figured out her approach to the story, which is capturing that sense of isolation and having the Generation X team finding their way through the world.
WEAPON X
Lowe spoke briefly about the Weapon X and Totally Awesome Hulk crossover, Weapons of Mutant Destruction which came about from a simple idea: Hulk-verine.
ALL-NEW WOLVERINE
X-23 and Daken will be crossing paths again and they won’t be getting along.
CABLE
Cable #150 will bring in a new team consisting of Shatterstar, Longshot, Doop, Armor, Blink and X-23
OLD MAN LOGAN
Logan will be fighting Maestro, the evil future Hulk from Future Imperfect. This gives that classic Old Man Logan vs Old Man Hulk vibe from the original Mark Millar story.
And that was all from the Marvel Ressurxion panel at SDCC. Are you excited for the upcoming storylines? Which book or books are you reading? Let us know in the comments section below.
