Fans have been enjoying the beat-em-up adventures in Marvel's Avengers, hoping for new content that will enhance the experience furthermore. However, publisher Square Enix stated earlier today that it will be delaying the launch of the next-gen versions of Marvel's Avengers as well as push back the hero release roadmap.
In a recent blog post, Square Enix described how the team is dedicated to fixing bugs and fine-tuning the gameplay experience in Marvel's Avengers. Developer Crystal Dynamics also apologized to fans by saying that Marvel's Avengers' launch wasn't a smooth one and the developer has recognized several issues with the game that it is currently focused on fixing.
Since the game's release, Marvel's Avengers has continued to receive various updates that have improved the gameplay experience, addressed bugs, and fixed matchmaking issues. Crystal Dynamics also thanked players for their support and rewarded them with a digital thank-you bundle, which includes:
- Credits: 1500 – Enough for a Legendary Skin and Nameplate from the Marketplace
- Units: 7000
- Upgrade Modules: 250
- DNA Keys: 20
- A Sarah Garza-Inspired Nameplate (Because seriously, you’re the best.)
- Players have a limited time, until November 5 to claim the rewards.
The blog post also shared details on the future of Marvel's Avengers. To begin with, Kate Bishop, who was initially planned to join the roster in October, has been delayed indefinitely. In addition to that, the next-gen versions of Marvel's Avengers will not be launching on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on day one. The developer has made the decision to improve the base gameplay experience before working on post-launch content and the next-gen upgrade.
There's no denying that the ongoing pandemic has posed serious challenges to all people around the world, including video game developers. Although working from home seems quite convenient, it never is the case when it comes to video game development that requires constant collaboration and brainstorming.
Marvel's Avengers is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. The game is also in development for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
