The latest trailer for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has been released by developer DICE. The new trailer features in-engine footage, and provides a quick glimpse at what the story will be like for the upcoming reboot.
As we can see, the story will again revolve around Faith Connors, the protagonist from the first Mirror’s Edge. Like the original, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst seems to be about some kind of corrupt business meets the government conspiracy-type story. It appears, however, that Faith’s sister will not be making a reappearance.
We do get to see some cool new moves here. The most impressive new feature seen is the ability to hang onto drones while they are flying around, as seen at around the 1:30 mark in the trailer. There are also a few shots of the new pole swinging mechanic, allowing Faith to keep momentum up going around corners.
Additionally, DICE just opened sign-ups to get into the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst closed beta. Signing up for the beta does not automatically grant you an entrance, however. The beta also doesn’t have an official start and end date yet. It will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
So what do you think? Are you interested in playing Mirror’s Edge Catalyst when it is released on May 22? Will you be signing up to try to get into the beta? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
