Mortal Kombat 1's Khaos Reigns Story DLC is scheduled to arrive in September 2024 and will add new guest characters, some of whom were previously leaked.
The upcoming story DLC's lore will unfold following the events of the story campaign and will focus on the invasion of Titan Havik, who comes to spread anarchy across all timelines.
The new playable characters that will be introduced include Noob Saibot and the now female Sektor and Cyrax.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns
These three fighters will be the first half of Kombat Pack 2 and will be available to players when the story DLC is released on Sept. 24, 2024. On the other hand, the second half of Kombat Pack 2 will feature guest fighters from various films.
As previously leaked, Ghostface from Scream will be joining Mortal Kombat 1's roster along with Terminator 2's T-1000 and Conan the Barbarian. However, there is currently no information on their exact release date, according to GameInformer.
The game's Kombat Pack 2 will come with the Khaos Reigns story and is not available for purchase as a standalone character bundle. On top of the new characters, animalities are also making a comeback as a free content update when the story DLC launches.
This was first introduced in Mortal Kombat 3 and players law saw it in 2011's Mortal Kombat which features beastial finishing moves. It is where fighters morph into animals in order to destroy their enemies.
New Playable Characters
In a new trailer, it was revealed that Mileena will be able to transform into a giant, horrifying praying mantis. On the other hand, a press release noted that every playable fighter in Mortal Kombat 1 will have an Animality.
Developer NetherRealm Studios made the reveal of the upcoming update for Mortal Kombat 1 during San Diego Comic-Con. It was also revealed that voice actors Enuka Okuma, Erika Ishii, and Kaiji Tang will voice Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot, respectively, said Polygon.
Ishii said that her new character is not a robot like what has been done in past games in the Mortal Kombat franchise. Hollywood actor Robert Patrick, who played the original T-1000 in the Terminator series, lent his voice to Mortal Kombat 1's upcoming character.
Additionally, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has previously worked with the Mortal Kombat franchise to bring his Terminator character to life, is coming back to appear as Conan the Barbarian.
It is still unclear when players will actually get to see more gameplay showing off the new characters, according to IGN.
