After weeks of speculation on what exactly the Road to Boruto trademark taken out by Bandai Namco meant, Weekly Shonen Jump revealed Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 will be receiving a large update by that name.
The Road to Boruto update will extend the story of the game past where the manga ends and into the story of the Boruto movie.
At Tokyo Game Show 2016 Bandai Namco officially announced the Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 update with a brand new trailer (seen above) that gives some details on what fans can expect and a release date.
While the end of the Road to Boruto trailer says February 2017, it has been revealed that the update will appear Feb. 3. Those who own Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 will be able to purchase the update, while a re-release of the game with Road to Boruto included will hit stores.
Players will gain access to Boruto and Sarada, who were previously only available via pre-order, along with the two villains of the Boruto movie, Kinshiki and Momoshiki.
You will also be able to play as Boruto in the adventure mode where you can walk around different locales completing missions.
The first-print limited edition of the physical game bundle will include a soundtrack for both the original game and the update, as well as a reversible box cover. The Road to Boruto update will allow players to play through the story of the Boruto manga.
Attendees of Tokyo Game Show will be able play a demo of Sasuke vs Kinshiki, which the trailer shows a bit of that fight.
