NBA 2K17 just got another 7 GB patch on PS4 and Xbox One. Update 1.10 doesn’t introduce a ton of new features, but it fixes critical exploits and sets up future All-Star Tournament content. 2K Sports community manager Chris Manning tweeted the brief patch notes.
As referenced in the message below, we know that update 1.10 has been dispatched to add content related to the NBA All-Star Tournament. A dribbling glitch, playfully referred to as the “hop step” exploit, has been addressed too. With the right maneuvers, it allowed players to essentially float past opposing defenses and head to the basket.
While the adjustments are appreciated, one thing many NBA 2K17 players can’t get over is the developer’s frequent, and massive, patches for the game. Several updates were pushed for the title this week, and all of them weighed a hefty 7 GB. To those criticisms, Manning clarified that updates are accumulative. In other words, every patch must include every fix previously released in addition to new ones. These restrictions, he says, are enforced by platform holders like Sony and Microsoft.
The NBA All-Star Tournament was announced at the end of December, and it’s an eSports campaign expected to end during the real NBA All-Star Game weekend festivities Feb. 17. The winner gets $250,000 and tickets to the game. Qualifying matches are scheduled for Feb. 4.
NBA 2K17 is available now on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
