The first update to Need For Speed of 2016 is almost here. This update, called Showcase, will include all sorts of new modes and features. We’ll address some of the biggest changes, with the full patch notes to follow. Showcase will be available to download for free starting on Feb. 3.
The biggest additions with the Showcase update is the inclusion of the Snapshot Pro Mode. Players can now press Start to access the phone menu, then select Snapshot Pro from the phone menu. This will launch into a new mode where players can control the camera, change settings like depth of field and contrast, and apply filters to the photos. If you want to take cool pictures of your cars, now you can.
Also coming in the Showcase update is the ability to swap car wraps. Now, players will be able to browse and download other created wraps in the Paint and Wrap section of car customization. You can even edit and tweak the wraps once you download them to make them perfect for you.
As for other car customization options, over 100 items will be added in the Showcase update. 11 cars will be getting the new parts, including:
Ford Focus RS
Chevrolet Camaro Z28
BMW M3 E92
Ford Mustang Boss 302
Ford Mustang Foxbody
Ford Mustang GT
Mazda MX5 (2015)
NISSAN 180sx Type X
NISSAN Silvia Spec-R
SUBARU BRZ Premium
SUBARU Impreza WRX
Coming to all cars is the ability to customize your license plate. The options for plates come from all of the previous Need For Speed game locations, such as Rockport, Olympic City and Tri City Bay. Players can also customize the plate holder as well.
Gas stations can now be used like they were in other Need For Speed games. Instead of having to go back to your garage to fix up your car, you can now drive into a gas station. The gas station will get your car back to looking brand new for free, so stop by the next time you see one if your car is looking busted up.
