A new Code Vein trailer is out this week, the second in less than a month, offering fans a new look at the next hardcore action RPG from Bandai Namco. The latest trailer is noteworthy for a plethora of reasons, including revelations about the soundtrack and Code Vein’s cutscenes, but few will be more exciting than the bits of English dialogue sprinkled throughout the clip.
This week’s trailer features a combination of Code Vein gameplay and animated cutscenes, all of which are apparently being drawn by the increasingly popular ufotable (God Eater, Tales of Zestiria the X). The new promotional footage also confirms the Japanese band VAMPS will contribute to the Code Vein soundtrack and that song, which probably sounds good to someone, can be heard in the new CV trailer. The gameplay footage also features a number of enemies and skills we haven’t seen in previous Code Vein previews, including some new bosses and what seems to be a wolfman.
The new footage is certainly very pretty. But the trailer’s audio track will be far more exciting for those wanting to know more about the world we’ll explore in Code Vein. We’ve known for months that the game’s protagonist will have a stable of potential adventuring partners when CV debuts next year, and the new trailer provides some insight into each ally’s motivations. From the looks of things, their sources of inspiration run the gamut, from protecting family to a desire to rebuild some semblance of the life mankind enjoyed before everyone was turned into a vampire.
