New World, the successful multiplayer game by Amazon, just received some love from the developer. An update went live yesterday that fixed several bugs including the one that stopped story progression. So, the next time you open the game make sure that the patch is installed.
Players can now complete the “Answer the Call” main story quest. All they have to do is reset the quest and they will get access to the required item needed to complete the task. The bug where storage chests will not increase the available town storage total has been addressed as well.
The patch also readies up the game for the upcoming free weekend via Steam. So if you haven’t played New World yet, here’s your chance. The patch notes are mentioned below.
UPDATE 1.4.1
- Fixed an issue with storage chests not increasing available town storage total.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing completion of the "Answer the Call" Main Story Quest. Resetting the quest should now grant the item needed to complete it.
- Corrected a bug that prevented players from getting quest credit for "Into the Depths" by killing Commander Thorpe. Defeating Commander Thorpe in the Expedition should now properly advance the quest.
- Fixed an issue where quest reward containers from the "Tempest's Soul" questline were not respecting players' Expertise when awarding loot. Rewards should now be at the appropriate Expertise level.
- Preparation for the Steam Free Weekend.
- Fixed an issue causing player achievements to load incorrectly at the start of a new game session.
- Fixed an issue with the Indigo Flame using an incorrect icon.
- Fixed an issue causing certain Blunderbuss item types from being incorrectly listed under “Muskets” at the Trading Post.
