Set to be the most immersive and authentic NHL game event, EA Sports NHL 23 is launching this October 14 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
This newest title offers players new levels of authenticity with the following improvements:
- More than 500 new last chance playmaking animations.
- Living arenas and atmosphere.
- Deep franchise-mode customization.
- New ways to play Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT).
Women’s Players Added to HUT
Speaking of HUT, the IIHF Women’s National Teams has been added to this mode. This means you can now have the world’s best men’s and women’s players compete in one lineup, a first for the series.
It was last year when national teams were introduced, and it looks like they’ll continue to play a big role in NHL 23. National team players have base and master items incorporated into HUT events. Plus, players can now compete in different and new rotating game themes in HUT Rivals. The game also introduces three additional tiers of HUT Rivals Rewards, which are based on win or win streaks.
In a statement, EA Vancouver Creative Director Mike Inglehart shared that the franchise has always been about playing with friends and this new title will bring players together in new ways. He added that the growing presence of women players in the game shows the expanding fanbase of hockey.
Cover Athletes
EA Sports announced that the cover of NHL has two athletes. It’s Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks and Sarah Nurse, Canadian professional hockey and women’s national team member. Sarah is the first woman to be on the cover of the NHL series.
Sarah Nurse revealed that it was an honor to be the first woman on the cover of the NHL franchise. She added that she’s excited that the game is celebrating the diversity and inclusivity of hockey. She hopes that the increased representation of women would inspire young girls worldwide that hockey has a place for them.
Pre-order Now
Pre-orders for the game are now being accepted, and those who do get a bunch of bonus in-game content. The EA Sports NHL 23 X-Factor Edition, for example, has the base game and these goodies:
- Three days of early access.
- 4,600 NHL Points.
- One HUT X-Factor Player Choice Pack.
- HUT X-Factor Power-Up Starter Pack.
- X-Factor Women’s HUT Choice Pack.
