Dengeki and Square Enix hosted a new NieR: Automata live stream on Thursday, as promised earlier this week, featuring a bit of new gameplay footage and confirmation that NieR: Automata will include PS4 Pro support when it debuts next year. Square Enix even took time to highlight the visual differences players will see when playing NieR: Automata on the improved PS4 hardware.

If you missed the latest NieR: Automata live stream, which broadcast at 6 a.m. (EST) on Thursday morning, you certainly aren’t alone. But the biggest news out of today’s live stream seems to be new details on NieR: Automata ’s PS4 Pro support. Siliconera obtained three NieR: Automata comparison shots, showing visual differences when running the game on regular and improved PlayStation hardware. Only some fans will notice the small graphical improvements made possible by the PS4 Pro, like motion blur when attacking or dust particles reflecting light in “god rays”, but those who do will undoubtedly appreciate the changes.

Thursday’s presentation also included more on the special Final Fantasy XV crossover content -- specifically, the “Engine Blade” weapon and its newly-confirmed Weapon Story -- we’ll see in NieR: Automata next year. Specifics on the story content were scarce but Square Enix Producer Yosuke Saito did tell viewers that the Engine Blade content is essentially “ Final Fantasy XV as written by [ NieR: Automata director] Yoko Taro.”

To see more of NieR: Automata , take some time to review this week’s Dengeki x Square Enix live stream. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if PS4 Pro support for NieR: Automata has any impact on your decision to buy the game and/or Sony’s improved PS4.

NieR: Automata is in development for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game debuts March 9, 2017.
