When it comes to courtroom battles, most people are familiar with Phoenix Wright. The thing is, he’s not the only one with the skill. Prepare to enjoy a new kind of courtroom drama with none other than Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle Season One.
The game offers players the elements of a visual novel combined with indie graphic adventure. It’s set in a world where every kind of anime genre exists all at once.
The game boasts around 10 hours of content and stars the rookie defense attorney Nine Aquila as she represents clients who have been accused of capital crimes. There are three main steps when it comes to gameplay. The first is to Investigate crimes by looking at crime scenes and speaking to the different witnesses. The second is to Participate in the activities that are relevant to the current case like joining an illegal street racing competition. Finally, players go to court and Defend their clients.
So far the game has three chapters which are:
- Chapter 1
- Players defend a cosplayer accused of arson and this is due to her cosplaying as a fire mage.
- Chapter 2
- Players defend a client accused of murdering the world champion at Dragon Fantasy Arena on the eve of the national tournament.
- Just in case you’re wondering, Dragon Fantasy Arena is similar to Yu-Gi-Oh.
- Chapter 3
- Players defend three street racers, accused of causing the death of a fourth.
- This is an homage to the classic racing anime Initial D.
Other features of the game are:

Making the game even more exciting is voicing Nina Aquila is none other than Rachael Messer, the same voice actor who had roles in Azur Lane, Goblin Slayer, and Forgotten Anne.
