Another day, another round of Nintendo NX rumors. The latest batch of rumors is mostly a rehash of what we’ve heard before, but this time comes from a new source: a poster on NeoGAF.
The user reported he or she has many contacts with inside information, and has separated the rumors by the number of sources who have said it. The most common rumor flying around right now is that the Nintendo NX will be more powerful than a PS4.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this rumor, so it seems this could actually be true. With so many different people claiming their inside sources are right, either they are or many people have delusions about their connection to Nintendo inside sources. According to the latest leak, the CPU, GPU and RAM are all going to be more impressive than Sony’s latest console.
The next batch of rumors revolves around Wii U games getting ported over to the new console. Four games have been named already, with two seeming to be a definite yes. The games coming for sure will be Super Smash Bros. 4 and the next Legend of Zelda game. The Zelda leak also isn’t new, so this one is very likely happening. It also makes tons of good business sense for Nintendo to release a new console with a Zelda game already on it.
The two other games mentioned are supposedly maybes at this point. Super Mario Maker and Splatoon, both surprisingly massive successes, could be coming to the new Nintendo console. According to the leak, they are only maybes at this point due to technical difficulties. Nintendo wants Super Mario Maker to feature all of the levels and content from the Wii U version. Splatoon is also aiming at being cross-platform between Wii U and the NX. If both games can get to the level of quality Nintendo wants, they will get released.
Here’s where things get interesting. If Nintendo wants to bring over Super Mario Maker and Splatoon, both those games heavily rely on touch and motion-sensing gameplay. We know that the previous controllers that have leaked are fakes, so what could the NX controller look like? The controller will almost definitely include accelerometers, as everything from the PS4’s DualShock 4 to the 3DS has one built in now. Touch controls remain the true mystery.
So what do you think? Do you believe any of the rumors about the Nintendo NX? Will you wait to get excited until Nintendo finally pulls the curtain back on their new console? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
