In a continued effort to reintroduce the Nintendo IP to the general public, Nintendo has partnered with Yogurtland to bring flavors inspired by Mario and his friends from the Mushroom Kingdom this summer across the U.S.

“Like Nintendo, Yogurtland offers a one-of-a-kind experience, high-quality products and a universal appeal for people of all ages,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “By bringing Nintendo characters to Yogurtland shops, we’re making the summer more fun for everyone.”

The Nintendo-inspired flavors coming to Yogurtland this summer include Mario’s Chocolate Gelato, Luigi’s White Chocolate Pistachio and Toad’s Rocky Road.

“This summer’s flavor-filled adventure at Yogurtland is all about family moments – creating and remembering them,” said Yogurtland CEO and founder Phillip Chang. “This exciting promotion brings together multiple generations of frozen yogurt and video game fans to inspire summer fun.”

Yogurtland will also be hosting a sweepstakes offering Nintendo fans a chance to win a Wii U system and one year of free frozen yogurt. All you have to do is visit the Yogurtland website starting July 1 and follow the steps to enter.

One grand prize package will be rewarded every week for 10 weeks. But there are other prizes besides the Wii U and free yogurt, so be sure to check back every week when the winners are announced.

Nintendo’s partnership with Yogurtland is in line with the company’s efforts to incorporate its video game IPs and characters into the mainstream. Nintendo has done Pokemon McDonald’s Happy Meal toys and even Vans footwear and attire to get the characters in front of the general population.
