A new Nioh trailer is out this week, alongside additional information about the beta test scheduled to begin later this month, adding the action-RPG to a growing number of unreleased titles getting a little extra press during gamescom 2016 .

It’s been a pretty slow summer for game news. Overwatch dominated most of the season, thanks to an incredibly strong launch , and likely would’ve remained the community’s primary focus were it not for the recent uproar about No Man’s Sky . But now we’ve reached gamescom, one of Europe’s biggest annual video game conventions, and a new wave of announcements are finally giving gamers something new to talk about. And there’s no better example than the latest trailer for Nioh , the upcoming samurai-inspired, action-RPG that heads into beta on August 23 .

The new trailer features gameplay captured using the same version of Nioh that will be distributed for the beta, including some of the same areas we were shown during our E3 demo . The next phase of testing will give players access to a variety of weapons and environments not seen during the Nioh alpha and will also include a basic tutorial for those still struggling with the game. And there doesn’t look to be any shortage of new enemies to overcome. Koei Tecmo says players will also have another chance to earn the Mark of the Conqueror DLC being distributed at launch.

For a closer look at Nioh , take a couple of minutes to check out the new beta gameplay trailer from Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo. Then head down to the comments section and let us know what you’re hoping to see in the Nioh beta when it begins next week.

Nioh is in development exclusively for PlayStation 4. The game is expected to debut before the end of 2016.
