Octopath Traveler II is finally out on PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. This is the second standalone title in the Octopath Traveler series and introduces players to the world of Solistia. In this one, eight travelers offer unique storylines and motivations. They need to travel across treacherous lands, conquer enemies in strategic turn-based battles, and navigate the dangers and promise of a new industrial era.
The game has players experience a new epic story set in a world independent from the original game. In addition to eight original characters, everyone gets to experience new gameplay elements along with new features. The game is the perfect entry for those who want to discover more about the series. Meanwhile, it continues to have the charm of the original game which is good news for long-time fans.

- Break and Boost Battle System
- Players need to find a way to exploit enemy weaknesses to “Break” them to inflict more damage.
- “Boost” travelers to enhance abilities.

- Players can interact with NPCs throughout the world in different ways through actions unique to each character, including challenging people as a warrior or even stealing belongings as a thief.
- Path Actions vary depending on the protagonist and whether it is day or night.

- Players can experience intertwined stories of eight new travelers:
- Hikari (Warrior)
- Agnea (Dancer)
- Partitio (Merchant)
- Osvald (Scholar)

- Day/Night Cycle
- The townscapes and Path Actions available to each character change depending on this cycle.

- A new battle element where characters can unleash a powerful ability once the ability’s gauge fills up during combat.

- Additional stories unfold between protagonists as their journey progresses, further intertwining their narratives.
For those who aren't sure if the game is for them or not, the Octopath Traveler II Prologue Demo is available on PC, PlayStation consoles, and Nintendo Switch. In this Prologue Demo, players can choose any of the eight protagonists and start their journey with three hours of play available and save data is carried over to the full game once officially bought.
