Oculus has begun offering pre-orders for the Oculus Rift alongside a Rift-ready gaming PC starting today. These bundles provide everything you need to get yourself going in the VR world. They could also be the easiest way to secure an early Rift headset.
Each bundle includes a gaming PC made by either ASUS, Alienware, or Dell. Along with the PC, those who pre-order will also be getting an Oculus Rift headset, the Rift camera, the Rift remote, and an Xbox One controller.
The bundles begin at $1,499.00 and go up to $3,149.00 depending on which PC you get bundled with your Rift.
As seen on Amazon, Best Buy and Microsoft sites, the estimated ship date for the bundles is April 23. This is a good deal earlier than what the ship dates for the Oculus Rift headset are from the Oculus website. Pre-ordering a Rift right now sets the expected delivery time at July of this year.
While coughing up the extra dough might seem crazy, having an upgraded computer that is definitely capable of running high-end VR experiences has got to be an alluring prospect. Add on the fact that it seems you will be getting your Rift months ahead of your friends, and you could see more people than anticipated hopping on these bundles.
So what do you think? Will you get one of the Oculus Rift PC bundles? Will you instead stick with just the headset? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
