Overwatch 2 has been in development for quite a while now. The game is nearing its release, and players are currently getting some action, thanks to the recently released major update. It added new content, new features, balancing tweaks, and a new announcement.
Cross-Play Under Testing
It’s no secret that Overwatch 2 will have cross-play support to let players on PC, Xbox, and PS play together. The developer wants the same for the beta branch. One of the goals of this branch is to test the game’s cross-play capability. Here, developers can stress-test the game and allow players to experience the good and the bad. Then, wait for feedback to come through and fix issues as needed.
Temporary Changes to Quick Play
As you know, Competitive Play isn’t available at the moment because of some changes to Quick Play. Role Play and Open Queue options are provided, and Quick Play will use competitive rulesets. These changes are not permanent, so don't worry too much.
New Hero
The newest hero on the roster is Junker Queen. Her primary weapon is the Pump Action Shotgun called Scatter Gun. Her abilities are mentioned in great detail below:
- Pump Action Shotgun
- Active: Throw the blade and re-activate to pull it back, along with any impaled enemy
- Passive: Wound enemies with Quick Melee or Throw, dealing damage over time
- Temporarily increase health and movement speed for yourself and nearby allies
- Wound all enemies in front of you, dealing damage over time
- Heal from all damage over time dealt by wounds
- Charge forward and wound enemies; dealing damage over time and preventing them from being healed
The update doesn’t stop here. It also added new features and tweaked the old ones, balancing changes, and bug fixes. You can check out the complete patch notes on the official site.
