As long as there are online games, there will be people trying to cheat the system. Bots that farm up levels, scripts that dodge projectiles and DDOS attacks that shut computers down are all par for the course if you are an online gamer. Game companies want to create as even a playing field as possible, so players enjoy themselves while farming creeps or shooting n00bs (I know nobody says that anymore.)
On a Blizzard forum post , Overwatch community manager Lylirra reminded players how cheaters will not be tolerated in their game and will be permanently banned if caught. “For us, it’s not just about creating awesome games, but about supporting those games and their communities for years to come” Lylirra wrote.
If you catch someone cheating in Overwatch , report them at hacks@blizzard.com. The engineer team will not send you a response though, but they will look at your email. Kill Cam, plays of the game and other in-game footage should be sent if it helps them pinpoint what they are exploiting. There will also be a spot in the client where you can report players from.
Keep in mind that just because a player looks like they are cheating doesn’t mean they are. When looking at playback footage, the crazy Genji who get a pentakill that you swore had to have been using “hacks” might have just been a really good player. Sometimes salt blocks your judgement; don’t be that guy.
Overwatch launched May 24, don’t forget your grenade launchers.
