A new update is now live in Phasmophobia and invites players to test their bravery in a new map. Prepare for Point Hope which features 10 floors and 12 rooms. Its unique layout is sure to challenge players in a lot of new ways. To succeed, they'll need to make use of different techniques against some of those pesky ghost abilities. The new location unlocks at level 15.
Point Hope was recently refurbished by a young family looking for something unique to call home. Once inside, players are welcomed by a modern extension that's complete with a hallway, closets and a downstairs bathroom. They see all of these even before entering the main Living Room of the Lighthouse. Players are faced with spiral staircases and round rooms, which is sure to be a first for ghost hunters.
Changes to Progression
The new update makes adjustments to some of the progression, with the changes being based on community feedback. These include:
- The required EXP to level from 1-100 has been lowered by around 10%.
- This should make levelling faster
- Players can now level up to 9999 for each prestige.
- The required experience needed to level up between 999 and 9999 increases with each level.
- Sunny Meadows Restricted is now categorized as a medium location.
- Increased rewards for correctly identifying the ghost in medium and large locations.
- Medium: from $125 to $150
- Large: from $150 to $200
ID Card Badges
Players can also check out the new ID Card badges which can be unlocked. These are:
- Lighthouse Keeper
- Correctly identify the ghost on Point Hope 50 times with a reward multiplier above 0x.
- Apocalypse bronze
- Correctly identify the ghost, take a ghost photo and complete all objectives on Sunny Meadows with a difficulty multiplier of 6 or higher.
- Apocalypse silver
- Correctly identify the ghost, take a ghost photo and complete all objectives on Sunny Meadows with a difficulty multiplier of 10 or higher.
- Apocalypse gold
- Correctly identify the ghost, take a ghost photo and complete all objectives on Sunny Meadows with a difficulty multiplier of 15.
Optimization
Players should be happy to know that the performance of several areas of the game has been improved. Adjustments have been made to:
- Photo and video cameras
- Shadows
- The weather and sky effects
- UI
- Physics
- Audio
- Reflections
