Destiny 2 Forsaken is all set to launch its latest content update, Season of the Drifter. In the space-set looter shooter, players have access to an award-winning plot, excellent visuals, exciting gameplay, and a whole lot of stuff to do, including PvE, PvP, and the most recent game mode addition, PvPvE. For each of these game modes, Destiny 2 rewards its players with powerful pieces of equipment called pinnacle weapons.
Every season, the game gives players challenges and quests which, upon completion, give players a pinnacle weapon with fixed stats and unique weapon perks and perk combinations. Unlike exotic quest lines, however, pinnacle weapons can be earned through doing just about anything in a respective game mode.
For the Season of the Drifter, the pinnacle weapons that players can earn are The Recluse, Oxygen SR3, and 21% Delirium.
Vanguard Strikes are the game’s bread-and-butter endgame PvE content, and reward players with the Oxygen SR3 Vanguard pinnacle weapon. The Oxygen SR3 is a scout rifle that deals solar energy damage and comes with a unique perk called Meganeura. Meganeura is similar to the existing Dragonfly weapon perk, but rewards precision shots with more explosion damage after a kill.
For players who favor PvP, the pinnacle weapon for Crucible is The Recluse. The Recluse is a Veist submachine gun that deals void energy damage and comes with a unique weapon perk called Master of Arms. Similar to the weapon perk Rampage, Master of Arms buffs player damage every time they get a kill. The difference this time is players receive the damage boost for The Recluse when getting a kill with any weapon.
The new Gambit game mode, and probably also Gambit Prime when it comes out this season, reward PvPvE players with a pinnacle weapon as well: a heavy machine gun called 21% Delirium. Big and heavy, 21% Delrium deals arc damage and comes with the weapon perk Killing Tally. Killing Tally increases its damage until its reloaded or swapped out. Developers have also noted that 21% Delirium will be Destiny 2’s first rapid-firing machine gun with a higher rate-of-fire and larger magazine than the likes of the Thunderlord or the Hammerhead.
Destiny 2’s Season of the Drifter is coming out on March 5, and brings with it all-new weapons, armors, and several weapon updates such as the coming buffs to rocket launchers and grenade launchers.
