Do you want to get your PlayStation VR headset and enter into a whole new world of gaming as soon as possible? Given the insane number of pre-orders, that might be more difficult than anticipated. That being said, if you show up to a midnight release event, you might be able to walk away with a fancy, new PSVR.
Many GameStop stores will definitely be holding midnight release events, but not all of them. Be sure to check out the PSVR midnight launch page to see if any stores near you will be open. GameStop is also doing a release based on 12 a.m. EDT. This means it will actually be a 9 p.m. release on the West Coast.
For other stores like Best Buy, Target or Walmart, it’s unknown if every store will be holding a special event. You’ll want to make sure you call ahead to your local stores to see if they will be holding a midnight release and to see if they will have extras to buy.
