Get ready for another exciting day in Pokémon GO as none other than Squirtle is going to appear more frequently in the wild. The Tiny Turtle Pokémon will be featured in Community Day Classic when it returns. This event is scheduled for July 9 from 2:00 p.m. (local time) to 5:00 p.m. (local time). What makes this even more fun is the seventh anniversary of the game in July with Squirtle being Pokémon No. 0007.
Of course, there are bonuses during the event:
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.
- Lure Modules activated during the event last for three hours.
- Incense activated during the event lasts for three hours; does not include Daily Adventure Incense.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day Classic for a surprise.
Trainers can also look forward to getting a Blastoise which knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. All they need to do is evolve Wartortle during the event or up to two hours after. There's also a Squirtle wearing sunglasses which trainers can encounter when they finish the Squirtle-themed Field Research.
Trainers can be part of the Community Day Special Research story as well. However, this requires a ticket priced at $1. For those who have extra cash, they can buy tickets for their friends, so they won't be alone doing this activity. Just remember that trainers need to have a Friendship level of at least Great Friends with a friend to buy and gift them tickets.
Summer Game Fest
Besides the Community Day Classic, there's also an event happening pretty much on the same day. The Pokémon GO team revealed that Summer Game Fest is going to be held in Los Angeles from June 9 to June 10. This is an industry event for invited press and content creators.
Those attending take a preview of the game's PokéStop Showcase feature. This feature has trainers enter their Pokémon into contests held at select PokéStops; each Showcase will have a category. In celebration of this new feature, the first competition will see the trainer with the biggest Pokémon. In addition to this sneak peek, in-person attendees can also enjoy special in-game bonuses.
The team shared that in the near future, they'll be introducing a new way for trainers to explore the world around them.
Pokémon GO is available on Android and iOS.
