The Pokémon Go Plus has been released in most parts of the world and like any accessory there will be some problems. The new accessory can have some connection issues, problems with the LED light or having trouble pairing with your smartphone or device.

With all that said, the Pokémon Go Plus does work well, but there are some quirks with the device that some users may not be aware of. We compiled a list of common issues with the Pokémon Go Plus , a l o n g with some quick fixes. The official Pokémon Support page also has some troubleshooting steps, so be sure to check that out as well.

Pokémon Go Plus LED Does Not Light Up?

Make sure the battery on your Pokémon Go Plus is installed properly. Each Pokémon Go Plus device comes with a battery but it could have become dislodged. The battery is found on the back of the device. Use a Phillips screwdriver and loosen the screw (the screw won’t come out completely, to ensure it won’t be lost) then pull open the cover. Make sure the battery is tight.

Replace the battery with a new one. If the LED light still doesn’t light up, you can replace the battery with a new one or simply remove and reinstall it. Make sure the battery has been set correctly, with the (+) and (−) terminals facing in the proper directions. Ensure you are using the right kind of battery (CR2032).

Pokémon Go Plus Cannot Connect To Smart Device?

If you are having trouble pairing with your device follow these steps:

1. Restart your phone, and then re-launch the Pokémon GO app.

2 . Go to the settings menu, and tap Pokémon GO Plus.

3 . If your Pokémon GO Plus device shows up here, tap the triangle icon to the right of the device to remove it.

4 . Press the button on your Pokémon GO Plus, it should flash blue, and your Pokémon GO Plus device should appear on your screen.

5. Tap the Pokémon GO Plus device listed on your screen, the device should pair, and you should see a message: "Successfully connected to Pokémon GO Plus".

6 . If the device does not connect or is never listed on the screen, try moving to another location and repeating steps 1-5. If the device still will not connect, there may be a compatibility issue with the smartphone. Test for this by trying the device on another smartphone.

You can also unpair the accessory and run the pairing operation again from the Pokémon Go configuration settings.

To unpair the Pokémon Go Plus you need to open up the Bluetooth settings and remove the Pokémon Go Plus from your paired devices. There should be a settings symbol next to the Pokémon Go Plus.

Press and hold the button on the Plus for five seconds. The LED will light up blue and stay blue but if the LED flashes blue, wait until the flashing stops and then repeat this step again.

While the LED stays blue, press and hold the button again for another five seconds. The Plus will vibrate and the pairing will be canceled.

Pokémon Go Plus Accessory Vibrates But Lights Up Red?

When the Pokémon Go Plus begins to show a red light, this means the connection between the Pokémon Go Plus and your smart device has been lost.

Make sure your device is connected to the Internet and the accessory is within 30 feet (10 m) or less from your device, then try reconnecting. To reconnect, go into the app and locate the darkened Pokémon GO Plus icon in the upper left corner of the screen. Tap this icon and then press the button on your Pokémon GO Plus, the device will re-connect to your game.

A single flashing red light and vibration could indicate that your Pokémon GO Plus is still connected to your smartphone, but your phone has lost network connectivity (so you won't be able to locate Poké Stops or wild Pokémon.) Moving your phone to a location with better network connectivity will correct this issue.

Pokémon GO Plus will also flash red if it fails to capture a Pokémon, or if some other problem exists (such as no available Poké Balls to throw, your bag is full, etc.)
