The latest Mega Pokémon in Pokémon Shuffle is Mega Abomasnow and it brings the ice-types some much needed power.
The Mega Abomasnow battle is timed, giving shufflers only 1:10 to bring Abomasnow’s health down to zero. And while many of these Mega Pokémon battles are two weeks long, Mega Abomasnow will only be around for seven days.
Mega Abomasnow has a 60 base power and its ability lets shufflers erase all Pokémon five rows above and five rows below. It takes 13 Icons to Mega Evolve and three Speed-ups can be used on it to have it Mega Evolve sooner.
Being an Ice Type, Steel, Rock and Fire types are your best bet to defeating Mega Abomasnow quickly. There are plenty of Fire types with high base power like Ho-Oh or the just released Reshiram .
Considering it’s a timed battle, abilities don’t make too much of a difference. You’ll want to make as many matches as quickly as possible. Go with your hardest hitters.
The event ends Feb. 16 and you’ll need to rank in the top 19,000 to receive the new Mega Stone.
But Mega Abomasnow isn’t the only Mega Pokémon coming this week to Pokémon Shuffle. Diancie was already released to the game, but its Mega Stone was never released until now.
The Mega Diancie escalation battle gives those who missed out on Diancie before a second chance and if you reach level 50 of the escalation battle, you’ll be rewarded the Diancite.
Mega Diancie has a base power of 70 and its Mega Ability is that it erases Pokemon that are covered by a barrier (max 10). That’s a great ability and because of it, you’ll need to make 19 matches to Mega Evolve.
As with all escalation battles in Pokémon Shuffle, the higher the level the harder the battles are and when you finally get to level 50 you’ll be in for a fight.
The Pokémon Shuffle subreddit has a few good tips to beating Mega Diancie but you’ll definitely want to bring as many Steel and Poison types you can.
