Volcanion is the last Pokémon that hasn’t been obtained in either Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire or Pokemon X and Y. However, with the Volcanion Pokémon movie coming to North America, it is time for the distribution of the only Fire and Water-type to begin.
From Oct. 10 to Oct. 31, participating GameStops will distribute a scratch-off card that contains a single-use code to download Volcanion.
This Volcanion comes at level 70 with the attacks Overheat, Hydro Pump, Explosion and Volcanion’s signature move, Steam Eruption. The GameStop will also come with a hold item, Assault Vest, to raise the Special Defense of any Pokémon holding it.
Volcanion is not the only Pokémon being distributed in October, as the 20th Anniversary October Pokémon is Keldeo . The way you obtain each Pokémon is different, with Keldeo simply letting trainers log-in to the Mystery Gift function while Volcanion requires a code.
To download Volcanion after you received the code through GameStop is to go to the Mystery Gift tab once you boot up your Pokémon ORAS game. Select RECEIVE GIFT then GET WITH CODE, connect to the Internet and then input your code.
If you’re unlucky enough to miss out on the Gamestop codes, some trainers have called the Nintendo Customer Service where they provided their Network ID and a code was given over the phone. It’s an option you can try if your local GameStop doesn’t have enough Volcanion codes.
