Publisher Maximum Games has just announced that they will soon be putting out a physical Collector’s Edition of the fighting game Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid on October 8. The nWay-developed title, which was released in 2019, will get physical releases for all its platforms, which includes the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid pits current and classic Power Rangers and villains from the multiverse’s long running and expansive 25-year history in a battle against one another. Players create teams of three heroes or villains and face off against opponents in one-on-one fights, with the two other teammates tagging in and out in the heat of battle. Players can utilize real-time assist takeovers, dynamic defense (which includes aerial guard and push blocking), unique and customizable juggle combos, and a unique Megazord mode which works as a comeback mechanic.
Battle for the Grid has a Story mode which is based on the comic book crossover event Shattered Grid. It follows the adventures of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and their battle against the evil Lord Drakkon. Other modes include a Ranked Online, Casual Online, Arcade, Versus, Training, and Tutorial mode, with 16 heroes and villains plus eight arenas available to play with. Another notable feature is its cross-play function, making it the first fighting game of the eighth-generation of consoles to include cross-platform play across the PlayStation, 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. Cross-progression on Online Play is available as well.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid 's physical Collector’s Edition will retail for $29.99. It will include the full previously released collector’s edition plus the brand-new and never before seen character Lauren Shiba. Pre-ordering the collector’s edition will include two copies of the Green Ranger V2 Skin, so one can be gifted to a friend.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is currently available to play for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and Stadia.
