Sony's 2019 State of Play has shed some light on brand new reveals and information on upcoming releases. One of the topics of discussion was the strange multiplayer game Predator: Hunting Grounds, which arrives on the PS4 and PC on April 20, 2020.
The multiplayer game is developed by the team behind popular Friday The 13th, Illfonic. Predator: Hunting Grounds pits players in two roles, one a killing machine, and the other being the human counterparts.
Besides revealing the launch date for the game, the trailer for Predator: Hunting Grounds also revealed the customization elements present in the game. Although customizations were only shown when playing as the Predator, humans likely also have some cool customization options available to them as well. While playing as the Predator, players can choose between three distinct classes - the Hunter, the Berserker, and Scout. One of these classes also includes a female Predator.
The arsenal of weapons showcased in the trailer features a variety of weapons including some of the iconic weapons from the movie itself. While playing as the Predator, players will be able to wield a plasma caster mounted on the character's shoulder, wrist blades, the Combistick spear, Yautja Bow, and Smart Disc. The female Predator is said to be wielding the Yautja Bow with a triangular reticle to aim.
Although the trailer largely focuses on the Predator side of the combat, it is unknown how a mere human is supposed to fight back against this seemingly overpowered alien force. All we can do is wait for additional information to drop.
Pre-ordering Predator: Hunting Grounds gives you access to bonus in-game content. This include the iconic '87 Predator Ole Painless mini-gun skin. The PS4 Digital Deluxe Edition of the game comes with exclusive PlayStation-themed skins for Predator and Fireteam squads and a 120-page Predator: Hunters comics.
