It's been about a week since Rainbow Six Extraction has been launched. Since then, it has managed to reach a new milestone with 3 million players across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna, and Stadia.
What makes this achievement even better is that the Buddy Pass has yet to be released. With the Buddy Pass, those who already have the game get two tokens. These tokens can be given to two friends who can try the game free for two weeks. It also allows access to the game on any platform and cross-play. Those who played the game through the Buddy Pass and decide to buy the game after free access will have their progress carried over.
In the game, players go against the Chimera parasite and its evolving Archæans. They can choose from a roster of 18 Operators from Rainbow Six Siege, all of which have been reworked with new abilities and attributes. Different mission types are spread out across 12 containment zones in this game.
Challenge Mode
One of this new content available is the Maelstrom Protocol. This challenge mode was developed especially for seasoned Rainbow Six Extraction Operators. The mode is laid out on nine consecutive subzones, each one offering an increasing difficulty with tougher enemies and less time to complete objectives.
Players earn points as they play and, at the end of each subzone, get the chance to extract and bank those points or go forward and obtain a bigger payout. Players can also accumulate points to go through the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond ranks.
Crisis Events
With the game officially live, players can enjoy free post-launch content, like the Crisis Events, accessible for a limited time only. This one brings some game-changing parameters and new Operators or Proteans.
The first of these Crisis Events is Spillover, which introduces an evolved version of the Sprawl for players to contend with as they fight the Archaean hordes. Those who can survive can unlock new items like exclusive REACT tech and new cosmetics.
