The Rainbow Six APAC North League Season 2020 Grand Finals between Giants Gaming and Cloud9 has concluded. The matches were played in a best of three series with only prize money to win. This league doesn’t affect the standing or anything related to Six Invitational. However, it was amazing to see the titans of North APAC go head to head once again.
The first map of the series was Coastline. Cloud9 was prepared for Coastline as they showed some impressive strategies. On Round 2, Cloud9 pulled a grand tactic using Ying to rush into the site. They had two players on the Kitchen window side, one player holding Lobby, and two others rushing from the service entrance using Ying candelas to flash the entire site.
Cloud9 was pretty dominating throughout the game, just dropping one round during the first half. Round 7 was very tight for Giants as they almost lost a 2v4 situation. The C4 pre-placed by Seongsoo "EnvyTaylor" Kim allowed him to get a double kill, and then, it was followed by another kill making the round a 2v1 in Cloud9’s favor. Adrian "Ysaera" Rui of Giants managed to get a kill onto EnvyTaylor and had to clutch a 1v1 situation with only two seconds remaining, Ysaera clutched the round by using the skeleton key, which was exciting to watch. After the clutch, Giants started to come back, but Cloud9 stopped them with an overtime 8-6 score.
The second map, Oregon, was another insane match for both teams. Giants pulled off the ballsiest play on match point, which was difficult due to intense pressure. Mohamed Martin "SpeakEasy" bin Mohamed Yunos was able to get an ace playing Ying. SpeakEasy dropped from the meeting hatch and used his candelas to flash the opponents. The round ended in a 1v1 situation that SpeakEasy won.
However, Cloud9 was too strong for Giants to counter as a team, which resulted in Cloud9 taking the win with a 7-4 scoreline.
