Rainbow Six Siege’s Colorful tournament just concluded its third playday for winner bracket matches. The tournament has a prize pool of $1,500, which is a pretty high amount for the South Asia competitive scene. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all the matches will be held online instead of the more traditional LAN environment. The prize pool of the tournament will be split and awarded to the top two teams who will compete in the finals. You can find the prize pool details here.
The ongoing Colorful tournament is a double-elimination based competition, where teams will have to win every match or drop down to the loser bracket. You can watch live streams of every game on the Colorful Bangladesh Facebook page.
The most exciting matchup for the third playday was between MercenarieZ and TRN8 Valiants. The match was played on Coastline, which is a very frag-heavy map. The match was super exciting to watch, as we got to see a frag-heavy team face a strategy-heavy team. MrcZ was able to win the match with a 7-3 scoreline. It was kind of obvious that MrcZ would win this match being the more frag-heavy team, but TRN8 did put up a good fight. The match didn’t show any impressive or new strategies, but we got to see some insane frags coming in from MrcZ.
Another exciting match to watch was between KIRA Esports and Union Gaming. This match was played on Oregon, which is a super utility-heavy map that typically favors the defenders. It was super exciting to see both teams from the South Asian major tournament duke it out in another tournament. Union Gaming had a rough start in their defense, which led them to a 3-3 split. However, UG was able to stay coordinated on attack, which led them to victory with a 7-5 scoreline. Jittery.uG was the most essential player for Union Gaming, as he got the entries almost every round.
